A small Filipino dictionary
Talking to Filipinos is not really difficult, because almost everybody learns English in school. English is the second spoken language in the Philippines. English is even mostly spoken in the tourist sector.
Nevertheless, a Filipino is happy if you can say a few words in his language. You can be more polite if you add the word po in the sentence. In this way, you could e.g. show your respect to older people. Usually you can use the normal version without po to friends.
The syllable with the special character is how you pronounce the word.
